Description: | Force Crag Mine, Braithwaite, Cumbria. These buildings house the treatment plant used for the separation of barytes and zinc concentrates. Crude ore from the mine is fed to the plant from the platform at the extreme left of the picture. Finished products are stockpiled in bays at the right of the building. The narrow pipe seen leading away from the buildings carries the tailings in suspension to the settling ponds in the valley bottom. |
