Description: Meldon Quarry, (960 face). Looking NE. Quarrying in Lower Culm. General view of quarry working showing digger and dumper-lorry on quarry floor and drilling rig above face. The beds are of hornfels and tuff in the normal limb of the southern anticline, Meldon; they dip 30 degrees north-west here, but elsewhere in the same face steepen to 50 degrees north-west.
