Caption: | Croftamie quarry. |
Description: | A disused quarry in Old Red Sandstone. It has clearly not been worked for some time and has been back filled to some extent. The visible face is now approximately 10m high and 20m long. Bed height ranges form 0.1m to 1m. Finer grained material tends to be flaggy, and a nearby downward continuation of the sequence includes a coarse grained conglomerate with clasts up to 4cm. There is also some quartz veining. Overburden is approximately 2m deep. |
