Description: | Roadside cutting SW of Wnion Halt on Bala-Dolgellau Road. Looking NE. Interbedded siltstone and sandstone of the Allt Lwyd Formation. These lower flaggy beds of the Allt Lwyd commonly show the effects of bioturbation. Here worm tubes can be identified by the infilling of lighter coloured sandy material. These beds pass upwards into the more massive, coarser-grained feldspathic or volcanic sandstone. |
