Cementation flush drilling machine boring for coal on a prospective opencast site. The compressor on right is used to drive and rotate the bit at the end of hollow jointed rods. Water is supplied from the tank (behind the rig) by pump on left, down through the hollow rods. Rock chippings are washed to the surface outside the rods. |
