Description: Near Bank End, Grizebeck. General view, Bank End, Grizebeck. The partly drift-covered foreground is underlain by Coniston Grits, of Lower Ludlow age, dipping steeply to the south-east, which are separated by a fault from Brathay Flags (of Wenlock age) forming the distant hills. The Brathay Flags are strongly cleaved in this region and are extensively worked for slate. The tips from the famous Burlington Quarries can be seen top left in this picture.
