The viewpoint is situated well up on the dip-slope of the Lower Greensand escarpment (in 6 inch map Sheet 34 NE) on the outcrop of the Sandgate Beds. The Middle and Lower Chalk outcrop on the scarp slope of the North Downs which is facing the observer. The highest part of the Downs in the view forms Reigate Hill. |
