A4610 and A4611 showing the method of removing the overburden. The main Fuller's Earth seam is the dark layer at the bottom of the pit-face. The surface of the ground forms the dip-slope of the Lower Greensand beds and the hills in the distance, the Chalk escarpment of the North Downs, the high hill being Reigate Hill. |
