Description: Willowmoor Quarry, about 2 1/2 m. S. of Wellington. Looking N. Willowmoor Quarry in Little Wenlock Basalt (as A4156). The hills on the skyline from left to right are the north end of the Wrekin with 'Wrekin Cottage' in the trees, Lawrence Hill and the Ercall. Each of these is faced with Cambrian Quartzite. The lower wooded ridge is Hazle Hurst (Comley Sandstone). The low ground is Upper Cambrian shale covered with boulder clay. The steep slope below the quarry is Lydebrook Sandstone (D1).
