Description: | Russel Burn, looking north-west towards Sgurr a' Chaorachain, Ross and Cromarty. A hanging valley between buttresses of Torridonian sandstone. The hanging valley was created by a tributary valley glacier which failed to deepen the original valley at the same rate that the main valley was deepened by its much larger and more powerful glacier. With the subsequent removal of the glaciers the tributary valley is left high above the main valley floor. |
