Description: Loch Meadie, 8.9 km. north-west of Altnaharra, Sutherland. View looking north-eastwards across the plateau underlain by siliceous granulite of the Moine series to the Ben Loyal quartz-syenite intrusions. The Ben Loyal intrusion consists of two quartz syenites of similar chemistry but different mineralogy and habit. In the foreground are hummocky moraines which also project as islands from the waters of the loch.
