Description: | Meall Meadhoin and Meall nan Con, Glendrian, Ardnamurchan, Argyllshire. The Great Eucrite ring-dyke and Meall nan Con granulitized rocks, from the north. Part of the Ardnamurchan Tertiary central igneous complex. The valley to the left closely follows the junction of granulites and outer margin of the Great Eucrite. The granulites are earlier intrusions affected by contact metamorphism during the emplacement of the Great Eucrite. The steep crags partly on view on the extreme right mark the inner margin of the Great Eucrite. The Great Eucrite is the most remarkable ring-dyke in Ardnamurchan, being a complete ring, a mile in annular width. |
