Description: | Glen Lyon from near Gallin looking west down the River Lyon, Perthshire. A typical glacial U-shaped valley. The Lyon Valley was filled with ice emanating from the high ground around Loch Lyon to the west. The River Lyon meanders on the flat alluvial terraces while the hummocky nature of the lower slopes is caused by the occurrence of glacial morainic drift deposits. |
