Caption: | Creag an Aoineidh and the Pass of Brander, 9.6 km. west of Dalmally, Argyllshire. |
Description: | The rocks seen in the crags belong to the Ardrishaig Phyllite, Easdale Subgroup, Argyll Group of the Dalradian. The numerous late-Caledonian dykes trending north-north-east are part of a larger dyke swarm that also cut the nearby Ben Cruachan Granite, part of the Etive Complex Steep scarp, with talus features, produced by a fault running along the Pass of Brander. The rocks are Dalradian metasedimentary rocks with minor porphyrite and epidiorite dykes. |
