| Description: | The complex consists of a series of rocks that range from minor ultrabasics through the major constituents of diorite, granodiorite, monzonite to adamellite. It belongs to the 'Newer Granites', a series of plutons and smaller igneous intrusions emplaced later than the main metamorphic recrystallization and deformation of the Caledonian Orogeny. The slopes in the foreground are chiefly composed of plutonic rocks belonging to the Glenelg-Ratagain complex. In the middle distance the rocks are Lewisian gneiss and Moine schists. The Skye hills can be seen in the distance. |
