Description: | The Wick River, near Wick, Caithness. The lower reach (tidal) of the Wick River. In the distance the river enters the sea through a deep cut in the boulder clay. Taken about 1 km. nearer Wick town than C01627. Ridge of till (right, behind man in boat) is distinctly higher than bank on left. River flows in broad valley, with alluvial deposits filling valley. Town of Wick in distance. Within town, river flows within narrower, deeper valley which it has eroded in till. |
