Description: West end of Loch a' Mhuillidh, Glen Strathfarrar, Inverness-shire. Irregular fluvioglacial terrace. Low terrace occupies foreground and extends on other side of inlet. The top is just below the level of the road. Beyond are typical ice-smoothed rock knobs. The loch basin has been glacially overdeepened. This typically occurs because of variations in hardness of the bedrock. The loch has been eroded in pelite (metamorphosed mudstone), commonly garnetiferous and gneissose, belonging to the Moine Supergroup. Most of the distant hills are made of Moine psammite (metamorphosed sandstone).
