Description: Groverake Mine, Rookhope, Weardale, Co. Durham. Looking E. Groverake Vein at 60-fathom level. View up into stope above 60-fathom level showing Groverake Vein composed mainly of purple fluorite with white quartz veinlets. Grey shale clasts may be seen towards the right of the picture. The footwall of the vein, here near the base of the Great Limestone, forms the left wall of the stope. The stope is about 5 m. wide.
