Description: | 3.5 km. south-south-east of Glenfeshie Lodge, 15 km. south-east of Kingussie, Inverness-shire. Crags and scree slopes of Grampian Group psammite and alluvial flood plain of the River Feshie. River Feshie is a braided stream flowing in a broad alluvial plain. Mountains made of Grampian Group psammite (metamorphosed sandstone). Note rapidly eroding screes beneath crags, right of centre. By contrast, screes to left of river appear to be partly stabilized; vegetation is returning. Isolated trees mark edge of great Caledonian pine forest. |
