Description: | Glen Feshie, south of Glenfeshie Lodge, 12 km. south-east of Kingussie, Inverness-shire. Alluvial flood plain of the River Feshie. On left - large moraine at foot of mountain spur. River Feshie is a braided stream flowing in a broad alluvial plain. To the left is a remnant of the great Caledonian pine forest. Beyond the trees a large pile of poorly sorted bouldery deposits marks the lateral moraine where glaciers flowing down the Feshie valley and the tributary merged. Mountains made of Grampian Group psammite (metamorphosed sandstone). |
