Description: | Summit of Ben More Assynt, seen from the north, Sutherland. Landslips and screes of quartzite, dipping parallel to hill slope. On the north side of Ben More Assynt, a thin sheet of Cambrian quartzite unconformably overlies Lewisian gneiss, the Torridonian sandstones being cut out east of [NC 308 200]. Frost-shattering has broken the quartzite into small blocks, which form extensive screes and are prone to landslips. |
