Description: | Final product stockpile within the crushing and screening facility of the Bonawe quarry complex. The quarries are located on the north shore of Loch Etive, lying to the east of Connel Bridge, Argyllshire. The raw material here is derived from quarrying of the monzodiorite Cruachan facies, part of the early Devonian (c. 400 million year old) Etive pluton. Stockpiles show decreasing grade size from coarse aggregate in the foreground to fine chips and sand in the background. |
