Description: | Hyndford Quarry processing plant, Lanark. The material is brought to the plant by the conveyor belt in the near left from the working face about 1 km. to the west. The deposit worked is a coarse-grained and ill-sorted fluvioglacial sand and gravel. The sand and gravel quarry is located on an area enclosed by the River Clyde south of a line from New Lanark to Hyndford Bridge. The area is an extensive plateau, a rolling moundy spread of fluvioglacial sands and gravels. |
