Description: | Brent Delta production platform in the northern North Sea. Other platforms can be seen in the distance. The Brent oil field is located in block 211/30 in the northern North Sea. This is one of the production platforms. It is constructed of concrete with a massive base that rests on the sea floor and is often used for storage of oil. Large reserves of oil and gas were discovered in the northern North Sea. Platforms were installed in the fields to extract the hydrocarbons from the subsurface and pump them via pipelines to the shore. |
