The main ridge from left to right, Sgurr nan Saighead, Sgurr Fhuaran, Sgurr na Carnach and Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe is composed of Moine metasedimentary rocks either psammites or mixed psammite and semipelite. The foreground is underlain by psammites that show migmatization. Migmatization is a process whereby the rock undergoes partial melting during extreme metamorphism. |
