Description: | Ben Hiant, Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan. Ben Hiant from Ardslignish. The bedded rocks consist of white weathering quartzose schists, seen in the foreground, overlain by the Tertiary basalt lavas, forming dark scarp features in the middle distance. Agglomerates form the headland to the left (Maclean's Nose) and extend up hill to the right, transgressing across the bedded rocks. The ridge along the summit is formed of the Ben Hiant intrusion, overriding agglomerate. |
