Description: | Pin Cod, foreshore 300 m. west of Bathing Pool, Dunbar. Stack on wave-cut platform cut from Parade Vent volcanic tuffs. North Berwick Law, a phonolitic trachyte plug is in the background. The Parade Vent or neck is the largest of several in the district, more than half a mile in diameter. The neck contains undisturbed reddish and brown bedded tuffs ranging from fine-grained to lapilli-tuffs. The bedded tuffs are assumed to have subsided into the neck, the vent of a Carboniferous volcano. |
