Description: | Rum, south-east coast looking towards Dibidil and the Rum Central Complex. Highland Region. Torridonian sandstone (Scresort Sandstone Member, Applecross Formation) dipping to the left can be seen forming the sea cliff and the lower slopes. The mountain on the left is Sgurr nan Gillean composed of volcanic breccias including megabreccias, the latter composed of blocks of Torridonian sandstone up to 10 m. in diameter. Beyond is Askival and the lower crag Beinn nan Stac composed of rhyodacites, breccias and on the lower slopes, Torridonian sandstone. Laimhrig Shale Member, Diabaig Formation. |
