| Description: | Gravel-pit, Bodenham, Hereford. River Lugg fluvial gravels on fluvioglacial gravels, Bodenham Gravel Pit, 1982. The highest 1 to 2 m. of cross-stratified gravel is overall brown in colour with black staining in lenses near the base. This deposit is probably of post-glacial fluvial origin and overlies about 3 m. of overall reddish-brown, ill-sorted, imbricated fluvioglacial outwash gravel of late Devensian age. Most of this deposit is below water level. |
