Description: | Oblique aerial view of the Lewisian gneiss mountain of Ben Stack with a capping of Cambrian Basal Quartzite on the summit. Sutherland. View looking north-west. Ben Stack is formed of highly foliated Lewisian gneiss which dips steeply to the left of the picture. Fault lines can be seen at the left-hand edge of the picture, running from bottom left to top right. The hollow feature on the right-hand slope, running towards the viewer is a shear zone which has been picked out by erosion. |
