Description: Stretton Sugwas Gravel Pits, Hereford. Slumped laminated silts and till. View looking east-south-east of slumped beds in the Stretton Sugwas kettle moraine. The lowest deposit is a till composed of subangular to rounded Lower Palaeozoic Sandstone clasts arranged chaotically in a reddish-brown silt matrix. The laminated silt deposit above contains pale red-brown sand-silt laminae alternating with dark red-brown clay-silt laminae. Thin pebbly layers occur which were probably produced by slumping of the till.
