Description: Stretton Sugwas Gravel Pit, Hereford. Contact of Yazor Brook alluvium on cryoturbated outwash gravel. Detail of the highest part of the south face of the pit with buff to slightly red-brown pebbly alluvial silt, with gravel at the base, resting on fluvioglacial outwash gravel. The hammer head is at the contact. Note the vertical arrangement of the green Lower Palaeozoic Welsh clasts in the cryoturbated top of the gravel.
