Description: East Burghill Pit, Portway, Hereford. Slumped beds of Upper Portway Gravel on median sands and silts. View looking north-north-west of eastern limit of syncline in slumped Portway Sand and Gravel. About 2 m. of typically fine-grained upper gravel overlie median sands and silts. The gravel clasts are composed mainly of locally derived Old Red Sandstone cornstone and sandstone. Lenses of pebbles occur in the upper part of the median sands and silts.
