Description: Thetford Heath, 4 km. SW of Thetford. Detail of patterned ground. Fine sand with flints has been cryoturbated into frost-shattered chalk. Sorting of the shattered chalk has separated the flints from the chalk (left-hand side of the photo). Note the continuation of the patterned ground upslope both by the stone content and vegetation difference.
