| Description: | Allen Newport Gravel Pit, Fornham Park, Fornham, Bury St. Edmunds. Chalky Boulder Clay overlying contorted glacial sand and gravel. Although the contortion in the sand and gravel suggests 'pushing' from the north, other contortions in the same gravel-pit suggest that the contortions were present before the deposition of the overlying boulder clay. An origin by cryoturbation is thus favoured for the contortions. |
