Description: | Ferriers Farm Pit. Looking NE. Glacial Sand and Gravel overlying Red Crag. The light grey Glacial Sand and Gravel (white ballast) passes downwards into orange-stained well-rounded sandy gravels which in turn overlie red/brown cemented shelly sands of Red Crag age. The pale sands are seen to be overlain by a thin boulder clay which is itself overlain by well-bedded pale orange sands and gravels seen in the top right-hand corner. |
