Description: | Willesley Quarry (Albion Clay Co.), 1/2 m. SE of (disused) Moira Station. Moira Grits on Middle Coal Measures. The coals and dark grey fireclays in the lower part of the section form the group known as Soup-kitchen coals. They are overlain by 20 to 30 ft. of silty mudstones (showing strong joints and fairly distinct bedding in this picture), in turn overlain by seatearths known as Smith's Strong and Smith's Pipeclay, with coals indistinctly seen, capped by 20 ft. of red Moira Grits. |
