Description: Near Sandringham Warren, Sandringham. Looking W. Upper Sandringham Sands. Sited in the flaggy ferruginous sandstones at the base of the Upper Sandringham Sands, these old pits were re-opened in 1965 to provide hard-core for the Kings Lynn by-pass. The face is about 8 ft. high. Topsoil and thin drift deposits (white sand containing bleached flints and a few other erratics) forms the overburden. See also A10861.
