Description: | Denne Hill in Denne Park, Horsham. Looking SSE. Horsham Stone escarpment, south of Horsham, Sussex. The crest of this steep bank (scarp) in the lowest part of the Weald Clay (here a silty mudstone) is formed by a resistant bed of Horsham Stone, probably less than 5 ft. thick, which dips south-south-west at between 1 degree and 2 degrees. The hill overlooks the town of Horsham (off left) and reaches 250 ft. O.D., 100 ft. above the viewpoint, near Denne Cottages. |
