Caption: The valley NE of Maplehurst. Looking SW.
Description: The valley NE of Maplehurst. Looking SW. Valley which follows the foot of the Horsham Stone escarpment at Maplehurst. The foreground is the dip-slope of the Upper Tunbridge Wells Sand, which passes below the base of the Weald Clay just beyond the line of trees in the valley bottom. The far side of the valley is a scarp slope capped by Horsham Stone. This steep slope is typical of the silty mudstones and shales, which underlie the Stone in the Horsham area.
