Description: The lower Rhondda Fawr Valley at Pontypridd, looking westwards from Coed-pen-maen Common. Looking WSW. The Taff and Rhondda rivers unite in the area to the left of the church. The bold hill forming the skyline is Mynydd y Glyn formed by Brithdir Beds overlying Rhondda Beds. The strong feature encircling the upper part of the hill is formed by the mudstones associated with the Brithdir Seam and at the top of the hill there are small outliers of the Sandstone above the Brithdir Rider. The Pennant crags on the right foreground also belong to Brithdir Beds.
