Description: | Country around Glendrian and Achnaha from Meall an Fhir-eoin, Ardnamurchan. Argyllshire. Part of a panorama of the third and final centre of the Ardnamurchan Tertiary central igneous complex. Looking west along the Great Eucrite ring-dyke. It is very resistant to weathering and forms a complete ring of hills rising up to 250 metres above the general level of the surroundings and forming a natural amphitheatre around the inner part of the complex. It is a coarse feldspathic gabbroic rock containing augite and olivine. Centre 3 of the Ardnamurchan Tertiary central igneous complex forms the largest and most complete set of ring intrusions in the British Isles. Part of a panorama with C02806, C02807, C02808. |
