Description: | Eglwyseg Mountain, from near Plas-yn-Eglwyseg. Looking S. Escarpment of the Carboniferous Limestone, cut by the Ty-nant ravine in the middle. Beyond it, on the right, the Upper Grey Limestone is seen at the top, with the whole of the White Limestone in the scarps below. Underneath comes the Lower Grey and Brown Limestone, partly concealed by talus. The belt of trees at foot of escarpment on the left marks the outcrop of the red Basement Beds, below which the Ludlow Beds are partly hidden by boulder clay. |
