Description: | Gardenstown, Gamrie Bay, 10.5 km. east of Banff. Banffshire. A view of the village as it was in c. 1910. A young girl sits on a rock in the foreground. The masts of the fishing fleet can be seen in the harbour. In foreground - recent sea cliffs of Middle Old Red Sandstone. In middle distance - an old sea cliff line now above sea level on margin of low raised beach. Just behind where the photograph was taken is a major geological junction between the younger Old Red Sandstone and the much older Dalradian Supergroup. |
