Description: From field, about 1/2 m. SE of West Wickham Church. Looking ENE. The Tertiary escarpment. The foreground consists of the Chalk surface. The bold feature formed by the Tertiary Beds is breached by the stream on the left. The Thanet Sand forms the base of the Blackheath Beds, the crest of the scarp on which coniferous trees are seen. Between these beds lie the fertile Woolwich and Reading Beds.
