Caption: | Long Island, Trevalga. |
Description: | Long Island, Trevalga. Sea stack. Shows characteristic mode of weathering of the grey green phyllites. The island is the home of numerous birds, including the rare Cornish chough, guillemots and puffins build their nests in the loose debris near the sea and their droppings have been analysed for phosphates. The result showed that exposure to weather and sea have washed away the phosphates from the dung and rendered it useless as manure. |
