Description: Leven Seat Sandstone Quarry operated by Hepworth Minerals and Chemicals Ltd., at Leven Seat near Fauldhouse. The working sandstone face is approximately 14 m. high and is underlain by the Bents Fireclay. The quartz sandstone is typically fine- to medium-grained, massive and cream-coloured. Fossilized tree stems and roots are abundant locally. Fauldhouse lies in the middle distance, the Bathgate Hills (with snow patch) are to the right and the Ochil Hills, the Lomond Hills and the Southern Highlands are also visible.
