Description: | The Devil's Jump, near Camelford. Looking NNW. Recently deepened valley and effects of the Pliocene uplift. The effect of the Pliocene uplift was to set up a 'cutting back' or 'deepening' process in all the valleys. It began at their seaward end and worked back inwards. It has here reached the margin of the granite and the erosion has been so rapid that 'crags' of granite still remain. |
