Description: | Black Moss, 2.4 km. north of Dinnet Station. Aberdeenshire. Storage of dried kieselguhr (diatomite) blocks in large roofed sheds. Once dried the kieselguhr blocks would be transferred to large sheds as shown. Note the partially open slatted sides to aid further drying. One section is shown with the slats removed to reveal the herringbone pattern of the stacking. Track of a light railway is seen on the right. |
