Description: Llyn Llydaw, E. of Snowdon. Looking W. Snowdon and Cwm Glaslyn from Llyn Llydaw. The view is taken from near the east end of the Llyn Llydaw. The hanging cwm of Glaslyn appears in the centre. Behind this, and to the right, the highest ground consists of the Snowdon Bedded Pyroclastic Series (fossiliferous ashes), with some of the Upper Rhyolitic Series appearing on Grib-y-ddysgl behind shoulder in middle distance. The lower slopes and floor of the cwm and the rocks just across the lake, together with the Cribau arete, which ascends to the left from the top of the cwm - all form part of the underlying Lower Rhyolitic Series of Snowdon. Note the excellent moraines behind the old copper mine on the far side of the lake.
